Catherine & Del

Indigiqueer Advocates

Delaney “Del” and Catherine are a parent-child duo currently residing in Nunavut. They are both passionate about equity and human rights, and both spend their time dedicated to advancing the rights of others. Del identifies as a young trans, queer and nonbinary person, and is Métis. Delaney is a strong public speaker and spends much of their time doing work in the public speaking sector, or within policy and the writing of it. They feel endlessly supported by their parents, Catherine and Bryan, who have been quick to show support and love in Del’s gender journey and all its bumps. Catherine is an active volunteer who is involved in doing things such as food hampers and volunteerism at events such as those meant for elders, struggling families, youth and people of determination and sits on the Pride Steering Committee for her Employee Resource Group. Catherine has been recognized as a leader for her trans advocacy and allyship. Both parent and child are active when it comes to fighting for and protecting the rights of transgender youth, especially indigiqueer youth.
