Trans Youth and Activist Celeste

Celeste is a transfeminine jurist, activist, and law student located on unceded land traditionally stewarded by the Kanien’kehá:ka (commonly known as Montréal). Her work focuses on tackling the various barriers trans people consistently face in day-to-day life: whether that involves stubborn government agents, bureaucratic barriers, or plain injustices upheld by existing systems, she works to support her community’s well-being in spite of these challenges. She is also a public speaker, focusing notably on the intersections between trans people and the law, as well as transgender social movements as a whole. In her spare time, she organizes a variety of community events, ranging from protests and gatherings to more light-hearted reunions. Her goal through all of this is to facilitate trans joy and the celebration of queerness in its various forms, all while protecting fellow community members whenever it becomes necessary.
